  • Today, the office lunch thief ate my leftover Chinese food. 🍚 I’m pretty bitter about it, but choosing to focus on positive and fun things like this abandoned plane wreck in Iceland. ❄️ In the spirit of being positive, what’s the best thing that happened to you this week? 🏆
  • This is Kerid Crater, a big ole hole in the ground dating back 6500 years 😱🌎 We got here just as the sun was setting so it was getting dark and definitely a little chilly ❄️ but the Mars-like landscape was even more stunning in the dimming light.

Scientists originally thought this was an explosion crater, created by impact, but now believe it was created by a magma chamber beneath it that then erupted.

I’m no science person, but I think learning about this kind of stuff when you get to see just how massive and impressive it is in real life makes a difference.

Do you like learning while travel it is it strictly vacation? 📚🏖
  • We walked 45 minutes each way to see this abandoned plane that emergency landed/crashed on this beach in 1973. ✈️ Despite what this photo may look like, we were not the only ones there. I waited quite a while, my hands freezing stiff in the brutal winter wind ❄️ to get this photo with no one in it.

However, I can’t really complain because I’d say there were only maybe 10 people there. I do believe going later in the day helped! Have you been to the Solheimasandur plane wreck? How many people did you see?
  • As I sit in the Apple store while they try to figure out why my laptop won’t backup, I’m dreaming of being back in Iceland ❄️ Gullfoss waterfall at sunset was stunning. Have you been? 🇮🇸 #visiticeland #icelandtravel #gullfoss #waterfalls #europetravel #wintertravel #passionpassport #girlswhotravel
  • Sometimes you see views that take your breath away. Sometimes they make you feel small and insignificant. And sometimes they put things into perspective. 🗻 This incredible view of Mount Hood did that for me.
🔹🔹🔹
Did you know Mount Hood is technically a volcano? 🌋 It’s also considered the most likely Oregon volcano to erupt. 🙊 In fairness, the chances of that happening in the next 30 years are only around 3%-7%.
🔹🔹🔹
What’s the best view you’ve ever seen? 🗺
  • I’m a huge book nerd 📚 Powell’s Books was probably one of the most exciting things in the entirety of our Oregon trip. It’s the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world. 🌎
🔹🔹🔹
They have a rare book room too (I was geeking out) and they also house the first edition of the Lewis and Clark Journals 😱😱
🔹🔹🔹
What are you reading these days? 📚
🔹🔹🔹
And do you smell books? (No, this is not a trick question. 🧐) #books📚 #powellsbooks #portlandnw
  • I’m more of a winter person ❄️ With that being said, I can enjoy a nice sunny day! ☀️ But preferably ones that don’t kill me.... This was a short 10 min walk from the ground I got so hot I honestly felt funky for the rest of the day. In hindsight, I think I may have had some kind of heat exhaustion 😬 The weather in Phoenix, and many places, for that matter is extreme so remember to hydrate! 🥤 And please, remember to not push yourself. Listen to your body. It doesn’t lie to you! That’s daily soapbox PSA for today 💁‍♀️ #arizonaheat #phoenixaz #caves
  • Things I realized I never shared: cherry blossoms in DC! 🌸 Take me back to this lovely weather before it was 99 degrees and 80% of humidity every day 😷 #cherryblossomseason #dcspring #jeffersonmemorial
  • I love sunsets and I enjoyed this one sitting at a picnic table drinking wine 🍷 Sometimes the best things in life are illegal 😅 Actually I’m just kidding, but I’m still going to do it anyway. It’s a silly rule. #mthood #oregonexplored #skyonfire
