I saw this on Dear Friends Blog and thought it was a nice idea so you all can get to know me a little better while I build and figure out what this blog is going to be. Here it goes!
1. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
I started this blog a few months ago, back in June, but originally it was going to be a travel blog since I love travel so much and had tons to write about. Although I love writing about my travels and the different places I’ve been I realized I wanted to write about other stuff too and not limit myself to just one category. It took a couple of months to figure this out so this month I finally decided to revamp the website and turn it into a lifestyle blog with a specific section for travel! I’m much happier having a variety of topics to talk about and I look forward to connecting with other similar bloggers!
2. Where is your favorite place to travel to?
Oh boy this is a hard one. I love traveling so much and there are so many places I love going to, but I guess if I had to pick I would choose Berlin, which I’ve been to now three times. Berlin is such an exciting city, full of history and has so many cool places to check out. It’s also where I met my future husband and got engaged, so there’s that too.
3. Tell us one of your guilty pleasures.
I love Say Yes to the Dress. I think it’s a totally absurd, frivolous show filled with overprivileged crazies (for the most part) but I think it’s so fun to see all of the wedding dresses and I find it hilarious when you just get those families that make you roll your eyes and be happy they’re not yours.
4. What is your favorite color and why?
This is actually quite funny. My favorite color is blue and that’s because when I was really little, being the apparent feminist I was, I thought it was unfair that girls were associated with pink and boys blue. So the little rebel in me chose blue as my favorite color to protest gender stereotypes. Ok, so 6 year old me totally didn’t think that, but thus blue became my favorite color and still is!
5. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I totally wanted to be a veterinarian because I love animals so much, but as I got older I realized that I actually sucked at math and science and doctor stuff made me feel a little queasy. Not the best choice of profession to go into.
6. Tell us one of your must-have items.
This would be a mug because I literally cannot live without coffee. And trust me, you don’t want to be there to find out why.
7. What is your favorite TV show or movie?
Whew, another hard one. I adore Gilmore Girls and I also love Call the Midwife, slightly contradictory shows! They’re both amazing though so I’ll go with both of them, even though there are a slew of others, but you don’t need a list of my top 100.
8. Tell us your favorite birthday.
I love my birthday and I always have, but I think if I had to choose my favorite birthday it would probably be my 21st. Michael, my then-boyfriend, surprised me with flights to Marrakech after I’d been going on about how I wanted to go to Morocco for a while. It was so awesome because I’d never been in that part of the world before, and even though it was crazy hot (my birthday is in June) and my poor pale skin fought so hard to not turn lobster-red it was so much fun and a great experience.
9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Well, I hope I have a job that I love and is fulfilling and means I like getting out of bed every day and hopefully we’re living somewhere we like and still have the opportunity to travel a ton. But other than that I have no clue, ask me in 5 years.
10. Do you have any special talents?
I used to play the flute and I was quite good, but I stopped more or less after I went to college and I also ride horses and used to compete.
11. If you could travel in time, would you go forward or back and why?
I believe I would go forward because why go back when I’m happy with where my life is now. In the grand scheme of things there’s nothing I would change, so there would be no point to go back. Seeing the future though would be totally awesome and I’d see what my future birthdays hold (I told you, I love my birthday).
I hope you all learned a little bit about me and enjoyed reading! I’d love to know if anything surprised you or what your answers would be to some of these questions!
