Liebster Award

I’m super excited and so thankful that Tamara from Pixie Dust Required would nominate me for a Liebster Award! It’s so nice to know that someone out there other than friends and family read my blog! For those of you who may not know what a Liebster Award is, it’s just a way for bloggers to acknowledge other bloggers on the all of the hard work they put into building their blog and give them a shoutout.

How to accept the award.

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
  2. Copy and paste the Liebster Award badge into your blog post.
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers with 200 followers or less. (I take this to mean an average across various platforms, but you can use your own judgement!)
  4. Answer 10 questions from the person who nominated you and create 10 questions for the bloggers you nominated.
  5. Notify your nominees!

My answers to Tamara’s Questions:

1.) Who is your favorite Disney character?

Oh wow, so many to pick from! I’d have to say Mulan. She’s a total badass and she follows her heart, even when people tell her she’s wrong. But she’s not because she’s awesome.

2.) What is your favorite childhood memory?

This is a really specific memory, but the Christmas that Olive The Other Reindeer came out on TV (I believe it was 1999), my mom, sister and I watched it while my mom made peppermint bark. I don’t know why I remember that, but it was just a lot of fun and I really love Christmas and peppermint bark. So maybe that’s why.

3.) What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Travel! I travel whenever and wherever I can. Just recently I spent a weekend doing the Great Ocean Road and tomorrow night I leave for New Zealand, so I can’t wait!

4.) If you won a million dollars, what would you do first?

I would probably donate a large portion of that to various charities. I work as a grant writer for a not-for-profit so I know charities’ need for money! Plus, it’s nice to do nice things for people.

5.) What is the one thing you work the hardest at?

Hmm, I like to think I work hard in everything I do, but if I had to pick I’d probably say being a good person. Everything else is secondary to maintaining my relationships with people, because without them where would I be.

6.) What is your favorite color?

Blue! Definitely blue. When I was really little, being the apparent feminist I was, I thought it was unfair that girls were associated with pink and boys blue. So the little rebel in me chose blue as my favorite color to protest gender stereotypes. Ok, so 6 year old me totally didn’t think that, but thus blue became my favorite color and still is!

7.) What is your biggest pet peeve?

I literally can’t stand people who can’t follow directions. When something tells you to do one thing and people blatantly ignore that and do whatever they want… grr. Aggravates me! So I guess you could just say I dislike rude people.

8.) Where is the best place you have traveled to?

That’s a really really hard one. I’d have to say my favorite place would probably be Bangkok. Although I’ve had amazing trips to so many different places, there’s just something about Bangkok— the chaos, the excitement, the temples. There’s just so much about it that I love.

9.) If you could only have one item for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I thought a lot of about this and decided I would choose my iPad. I know that sounds materialistic, however, I choose this because then I would have access to my photos/memories, books, information, my blog, and communication to friends and family. So basically it combines the most possible things into one.

10.) What is your favorite thing to wear?

I’d have to say it’s a tie for scarves or watches. I love scarves because I get cold easily and I love them as an accessory, so they provide two purposes, but watches are so elegant and pretty and awesome. I can’t choose! So I’ll go for both.
